Visit from Westmeath Footballer Kieran Martin

On the 4th of May,  the 3rd day of active school week.  Kieran Martin who plays for the Westmeath Gaa senior football team came to our school.Ciarán has played with Westmeath since he was 17. He has played for 15 years now and was once the captain and he also  scored the winning goal in the Tailteann cup last year. He came in to chat to all the students in the school as part of an  assembly. He told us about his experience while  playing with Westmeath Gaa and how much they train, what they do, how to become a better player and then some of us asked him some questions. He took 5th and 6th girls and boys who play football for a training session we mostly focused on getting the basic skills right. We also played a challenging game where we all had to work together to win. It took us a while to get it right but in the end we got it and the girls won. Ciarán gave the girls in the final some tips for the game and wished us the best of luck.
